Prague, 23 October 2007 - The company Kofola increased its revenues for the first three quarters of this year by 15.7 % in comparison with the same period for 2006. During the first nine months of this year, the Kofola group as a whole received revenues for the sale of products and services in Central Europe totalling 3 461 128 thousand CZK.
As part of the group’s total turnover, the Czech Republic was responsible for 2 232 548 thousand CZK. Compared with the same period for last year, the group’s turnover in the Czech market increased by more than 30%, which represents the highest increase for any of the countries in which Kofola operates.
‘Growth after nine months indicates that by the end of the year we will have exceeded the 4 billion mark. We are currently getting ready for Christmas and New Year, which is one of the key sales periods and can still have a significant effect on results for the year as a whole’, commented Simona Nováková, Financial Director of the Kofola Group, greeting the results for the first three quarters of 2007.
Besides this year’s product innovations (a new range of functional water - Rajec Bylinka, a design change for Kofola, new packaging and flavours for the Jupí and Jupík ranges), the primary contributions to the high growth in revenues have come from increased production capacity at the plant at Mnichovo Hradiště, good weather and a successful marketing and advertising campaign. Sales over the Christmas and New Year period have yet to be reflected in the figures for 2007 – the impact will be significant.
