Davos, Switzerland, Jan. 25 - Fast-food chain Burger King Holdings Inc said on Friday its business was better placed than most to buck the economic downturn.

"It is a very counter-cyclical industry," Chief Executive John Chidsey told Reuters at the World Economic Forum.

"Obviously, in general, a recession is not a good thing. But having said that we're probably as well positioned as anybody, and not just Burger King. If you look at the QSR space -- the quick-service restaurants -- we tend to be counter-cyclical because as people have pressure on disposable income, people trade for value."

The hamburger chain runs over 7,100 restaurants across the United States.
