LAEP Announces New Acquisition

São Paulo, April 02, 2008 - LAEP Investments Ltd., which produces, processes, sells and distributes milk and dairy products, hereby informs investors and other capital market participants that, on this date, it signed a purchase agreement for a farm located in the 5th sub-district of the municipality of Alegrete, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul ("Acquisition").

a) The value of the Acquisition is R$ 11,466,000.00 (eleven million, four hundred and sixty-six thousand reais), paid entirely in cash.  

b) The property comprises 2,548 hectares and is located in Alegrete, 487km from Porto Alegre, 653 km from the farm acquired in Uruguay and around 250 km from the Parmalat factory in Carazinho. The farm will be used to raise holstein cows. 

c) The Acquisition is part of the Company's strategy of integrating its milk production chain and will aid the development of a vertically integrated project in the above-mentioned state.
