The European Union's executive arm had suspended the review on July 15 as it was seeking missing information needed to judge whether to let the deal go ahead on competition grounds.

It set a new deadline of Oct. 16 for the review.

GB Ingredients is a producer of yeast. Associated British Foods sells food products including yeast.
