The company also said that it produced 6% more confectionery on the year and recorded an output of 180,000 tons.

80,000 tons were sold in the Ukrainian market, which was 7% more than in H1 2007.

In February this year, FLEXNEWS reported that Roshen was planning to invest 40 million euro in the development of its production. The company was expected to use the investment funds for the reconstruction of its factories in the Vinnitsia region and in Lipetsk, Russia.

Roshen Confectionery Corporation is the largest Ukrainian confectionery manufacturer employing over 10,000 people. Its factories in Kiev, Vinnitsa, Mariupol and Kremenchug produce about 30% of all Ukrainian confectionery.

The company’s product range comprises more than 200 kinds of sweets, chocolates, sugar candies, cookies, waffles, fruit jellies and cakes. The total production volume is estimated at 200,000 tons of confectionery per year.

Roshen is an affiliate of the Kiev-based Ukrainian Industrial and Investment Concern (Ukrprominvest).
