4 September 2008 - China exported 43,000 tons of vitamin C during H1 2008, up 17.3% year on year, and the export value reached USD 320 million, up 128%, according to Chinese state media data.
Meanwhile, Chinese vitamin C export prices averaged 7.5 dollars per kg, up 94%.
China's vitamin C exports to North America and Asia grew 28% and 22% in the first half. The United States, Germany and Japan accounted for 55% of China's vitamin C exports. Exports to the US and Japan grew 27% and 32%.
