New Hampton, N.Y., Sept. 22, 2008 - Balchem Corporation today announced that it has expanded its Applications Laboratory to introduce a Bakery Innovation Center. This facility is available to companies desiring access to Balchem's innovative baking ingredient development capabilities. Additionally, the Bakery Innovation Center provides superior customer service, especially for Balchem clients with formulation or scale-up issues.

The Bakery Innovation Center provides new opportunities to leverage Balchem's proprietary Bakeshure(r) technology, which effectively controls release and reaction of active ingredients through micro-encapsulation. Customers can now engage in bench-top working sessions directly with Balchem scientists to get a better understanding of how encapsulated products can improve their formulations and how fortification of baked goods can be achieved simply with a 'drop-in' ingredient. Together with Balchem's existing R&D laboratories, the Bakery Innovation Center will significantly augment Balchem's ingredient delivery technology opportunities.
