Eurial Poitouraine Opens Herbignac 53.6 Mln Euro Mozzarella Factory

29 September 2008 - Herbignac Cheese Ingredients, part of Eurial Poitouraine, inaugurated its 53.6 million euro mozzarella factory on Friday.

The Herbiganc plant has an annual processing capacity of 270 million litres of milk and will manufacture 30,000 tonnes of mozzarella. Production at the plant will mainly be exported and sold to global food producers, including ready meal and pizza manufacturers.

By-products made at the site will be traded by the Eurial Poitouraine and Ingredia joint venture International Dairy Ingredients

Besides Eurial Poitouraine and Ingredia, dairy companies Sodiaal and Bonilait Protéines have also invested in the project, with additional funds provided by the French government, various local authorities and the EU.
