1 Oct - Levels of melamine found in 11 Cadbury products were within safety limits, food safety officials in Hong Kong have said.
The confectionery giant recalled the products on Monday from Hong Kong, Australia and Taiwan after finding traces of melamine in some of its China-made chocolates. The company said it was a precautionary measure after internal tests “cast doubt” on their safety.
The products were then tested by Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety (CFS). A statement from the CFS yesterday said: “Results available...showed that all the samples were satisfactory."
Cadbury Chocolate Eclairs were found to contain 1.9 parts per million (ppm) of melamine, while the legal limit in Hong Kong is 2.5 ppm.
