Copenhagen, Oct. 3 - Danish brewer Carlsberg said on Friday development in its key Russian market is estimated to have been slightly down in the third quarter this year compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Carlsberg said the development principally reflected exceptionally poor weather across the region and that this had been particularly prevalent in the second half of the quarter.

The brewer said in a statement its Russian volumes were slightly down compared to third quarter last year, but in line with the estimated market development.

It now sees growth in the Russian beer market of 1 to 2 percent for 2008 as a whole.
