Berwyn, Pa., Oct. 22 - Gatehouse Ventures, LP today announced the addition of Sunrise Bakery of Brooklyn, NY to the Bakery division of Gatehouse Holdings, LLC. Gatehouse Holdings currently owns D'Ambrosio Bakery of Philadelphia which includes Amalfitano's Italian Bakery of New Castle, Delaware and The Total Bakery Source, a baked goods distribution company.
Gatehouse has united the baking expertise of Sunrise Bakery with the growing presence of Gatehouse Ventures in the baking industry throughout the east coast. The new competitive advantages include a depth of product offering (over 400 varieties of baked goods), over 100 years of combined operational experience in the baking industry, and an expansion across the Mid-Atlantic region.

The expanded Gatehouse Bakery division will significantly strengthen Gatehouse Ventures’ position in the baked goods distribution industry by adding two bakery depots, located in New York metro and Stroudsburg, PA, to its current depot locations in Philadelphia and New Castle, DE. “The combination of a greater depth of product, increased manufacturing capability and a significantly larger geographic reach positions us as the vendor of choice for a very broad customer base. We can effectively provide over 400 baked products to independent distributors, as well as the largest institutional food service providers, in a 5-state region along the east coast,” says Chris Jansen, managing director of Gatehouse Ventures. “As a next step in furthering our presence in the baked goods distribution market, we will continue to add new bakery depots and we are considering other growth strategies in distribution as well.”
