Fedde Sonnema, Business Unit Director Savoury Ingredients, DSM Food Specialties, commented, “We have experienced strong and rapid growth in demand for our yeast extracts over recent years, largely due to the success of new innovative products. Increased demand for processed foods, reduced sodium levels and a move towards natural ingredients are all key drivers.

This investment will ensure even higher levels of efficiency and customer service, and we are confident that we, and our customers, will see the benefits. Our improved facility will house new, state of the art equipment that can successfully convert all our on-site grown yeast into extracts and will provide us the flexibility to produce new products. This will allow us to meet increasing customer demand for natural yeast extracts.”
