16 April 2007 - International Beverage Holding Ltd (IBHL), a subsidiary of Thai Beverage Pcl, will be acquiring Chinese liquor maker Anhui Gujing Group, according to the 'China Daily' newspaper.
The sale is estimated at 1.08 billion yuan (USD 140 million).
The Gujinggong brand of baijiu is very popular in China. Its sales, according to the newspaper, in 2006 amounted to 920 million yuan, up 40% over the previous year. Its profit were recorded at 26.5 million yuan, up 59%.
