Rosinka, which has a workforce of 600, saw its 2006 turnover reach 30 million euro. The company produced 143 million litres last year and its brands are mostly popular in the Kiev area. The company has 2 manufacturing facilities, one in Kiev and the other in the territory of Crimea.

The press reports add that Orangina intends to extend Rosinka’s popularity to the rest of Ukraine.

Orangina will be faced with competition with PepsiCo, which also entered the Ukrainian market with an acquisition this month. FLEXNEWS reported that Sandora, a leading producer of soft drinks in the south of the country, was bought for an estimated 600-700 million euro.

Orangina Group, which was acquired by Blackstone and Lion Capital in February 2006 for 1.85 billion euro, sells the following brands: Orangina, Schweppes, Ricqlès, Pampryl, Gini, Canada Dry, Champomy, Dark Side cola, Trina and other lesser-known brands.

The group co-owns the Schweppes brand with Cadbury Schweppes, the Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo.

The company saw its 2006 turnover rise 7% to 900 million euro. 2,000 people are currently employed by the firm over a dozen production facilities in Europe, mostly in France and Spain.
