Dukat Wants Remaing Shares of Serbia's Somboled; Lactalis Takeover Completed

19 July 2007 - Croatian dairy firm Dukat reportedly wants to take over the remaining 3.53% of the shares of Serbia's Somboled. Dukat already owns 96.47% of the company.

This acquisition, however, needs approval from the Agency for supervision of financial institutions.

Meanwhile, the local press reports that French dairy group Lactalis has has acquired 93.62% of Dukat.

In March, FLEXNEWS reported that Lactalis had agreed to buy 91.5% of Dukat from Croatian businessman Luka Rajic in for 2 billion kuna (274.4 million euro).

Dukat, which changed its name from Lura, posted sales of 2.2 billion kuna in 2006, roughly unchanged from 2005.
